Guoqing Li is a graduate student at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan. He obtained his bachelor's degree in software engineering with first class honors at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He contributed to the SaltStack open source project under Google's Summer of Code 2020 sponsorship of the Libvirt organization. In particular, he implemented features to extend the virt module to enable advanced performance tuning support. He has been researching virtualization and container technologies since 2020, and has also been working on collaborative neuroscience research related to epilepsy. He published a paper on the performance study of lightweight hypervisors used in container environments, and presented this at the 11th international conference on cloud computing and service science (CLOSER 2021). Currently, he is working on the performance evaluation and tuning of Kubevirt with SUSE virtualization specialists Dario Faggioli and Vasiliy Ulyanov who are both active contributors of Kubevirt, KVM, and the Xen project.
